Crop IMS is not your ordinary Ag service provider. Crop IMS was created by a group of farmer-owned input supply cooperatives back in 2004 to do something special: to provide leadership, guidance, and support to those cooperatives on all things having to do with technology as it impacted farmers and their operations. Each of these cooperatives had the resources to do this same thing, on their own, but in truly cooperative fashion, they knew that by coming together collectively, a more innovative solution would result. Each company thereby committed a fraction of what would have been required had they elected to do this themselves and Crop IMS was born.
Today, as it has been all this time, Crop IMS is independently managed and operates wherever and however it deems appropriate to deliver on this mission of making technology and information of greater value to its customers. Ours is a relationship-based operation with our employees being the Company’s most important asset. Crop IMS operates, then, where it finds people to work for it: people of passion and commitment to customer value-creation. We do not have physical locations, per se: we operate where our employees operate. Because Crop IMS manifests itself to customers through these important people, our employees ARE Crop IMS to their customers and everyone else in their communities.
The skill sets of our employees are different to be sure. Some are more involved with technology and equipment systems while others are focused on farm data and how to create value from that data for their customers. Most of our employees work independently but collaboratively with other employees. How their customers and communities experience Crop IMS is defined by the actions of those employees. It is our culture here at Crop IMS that serves as the glue that binds these different people together: a culture that says we must create value for our customers each and every season or we do not deserve their business.
